New Registry Service Measures
Press release | Ottawa, Ontario, February 23, 2026
Due to a significant increase in caseload, the Tribunal is under added pressure to maintain service levels and meet statutory deadlines. To help manage this workload, the Tribunal is introducing new measures for Registry services. The following measures will take effect on February 23, 2026.
PDF Document Size Limit – 100 MB per Document
Large documents must now be divided into parts of maximum 100 MB. Each part requires a cover page and will not be recombined. All parts will share a common Exhibit Number. This change aims to reduce upload/download failures and timeouts.
Details on the document size limit can be found in the Guidelines on Filing Documents.
Enforcement of Guidelines on Filing Documents
Documents that do not comply with the Guidelines on Filing Documents will be returned for correction and resubmission.
Ending Tribunal Participation in the Confidentiality Project
The Tribunal will no longer take part in the Confidentiality Project. Parties may choose to proceed with confidentiality reviews without Tribunal involvement.
Revised Forms II, III, VI and Certificate of Destruction to Allow Multiple Signatories per Party
The Tribunal’s forms were modified to allow more than one person from the same party to sign on the same form. This change will reduce duplication of information on file and the number of documents to process.
The Registry’s objective remains to offer timely and efficient services and to support clients in their proceedings before the Tribunal.
